Chronicles of Crowe is a story of one man’s unimaginable loss, discovery, transformation and redemption; set against a dystopic, post-apocalyptic backdrop, twenty years in the future on our present timeline. The main story chronicles the physical and spiritual journey of our main character Marcus Crowe. Crowe, father to his estranged daughter, Sara, failure from a broken marriage, and a fugitive from the law, struggles with PTSD and substance abuse as he faces the challenges of interpersonal growth in a bleak new world.

The year is 2041, and the planet is just coming out of a nine-year winter as a result of a catastrophic event that has forever changed the course of humanity. As a result, Crowe sets out on a singularly-focused mission to find and reconnect with his daughter, who is now feared dead in the aftermath. While on this expedition, a serendipitous encounter with a secret society of outcast scientists known as “The Willow”, sparks an unexpected and intriguing psychedelic and spiritual voyage for Crowe. Meanwhile, substory threads of unpredictable and violent Ossuan encounters, dark and sinister DMT harvesting practices, and the intensifying feud to “reclaim the land” growing between two extremely polarized, Biodome survivalist communities, playout across the main storyline.

Volume 1: Crowe, desperate to reconnect and rebuild a connection with his daughter, will undergo an incredible and arduous adventure through a dark, psychological and spiritually riveting journey. If post-apocalyptic stories are your thing, Chronicles of Crowe encourages you to dive deep into a rich universe, designed to awaken your darkest fears, tweak with your perceptions of reality, and question the evolution of the human race. The Chronicles of Crowe universe is best described as modern Black Metal in paper comic book form. The story tackles thematic elements ranging from Buddhism to Collective Consciousness, and Quantum Mechanics to spiritual ascension - all painted onto a backdrop of pain, despair and the will to survive.

Creator: Kiernan Rattray

Kiernan Rattray (pen name), a Colorado native, spent many years touring and recording in the music industry before coming to land in the comic book community. Kiernan has been an active studio percussionist, session player, music educator and audio engineer since 1990. He has recorded numerous commercial spots, jingles and “music beds” and has recorded and/or performed with such artists as Kristina Ingham, Hazel Miller, Vanilla Ice, Orgy, Powerman 5000, Evanescence, Staind, El Nino, Cold, Dirt, Incubus, Chevelle, Sevendust, and many more.

During more than twenty years of touring, performing and recording music, Jeff spent many hours recording and sound engineering in a variety of studio settings. Kiernan has also written and arranged music literature for marching bands, and has composed and recorded for film and TV.

Kiernan's last music project was a world-wide collaboration project Audiophoric, a project he founded in Denver, Colorado in 2013, showcasing talents and sounds created by artists from more than 3 continents.

Currently, Kiernan spends most of his time writing and working with other local artists in Santa Fe, NM.
